Original Oil Painting: Painted on a premium artists panel en plein air. The clouds in the east always put on such a fabulous show, lit up by the facing sun, so I painted this with my back to the sunset. The water often turns this light, bright aqua under the opaque purply clouds sitting inland, and I always love that contrast. The colors change so fast leading up to sunset that this painting came together in about 10 or 15 minutes, and then I finished it up in the studio later that evening.
